How old is the Telangana Agitation?

The agitation is just a decade old. The Hyderabad state was merged with Vishalandhra in 1956 with a resolution passed with two third majority of Hyderabad Assembly. The leaders of Hyderabad state asked the Vishalandhra people to develop Hyderabad as capital to the newly faormed state Andhra Pradesh. Hence, Hyderabad was made the capital of the state. Dr. chenna Reddy a political  unemployee joined the agitation, which was started by Sridhar Reddy in the year 1969 as he was denied the ministerial berth. It went on upto 1971. After becoming the minister Dr. Chenna Reddy abruptly called off the agitation. Then the Telangana people did not say anything and they were silent till the Telangana Gandhi KCR started the agitation in 2000. He started this agitation for ministerial berth in CBN's government, which is denied to him. Today's followers of Telangana agitation are nothing but followers of KCR. In the initial days, Mr. KCR attracted the pople with his comic personality and rustic accent. The myths of Telangana people started fading out as Mr.KCR failed to force the then BJP Govt. UPA Govt.to get separate state. The people felt that an agitation is started by anybody and are contnuing since then. Meanwhile, all the political parties started singing separate Telangana and most of the leaders do not want to participate in the agitation. They are a feared lot, if they do not participate in the agitation, they may not win in the next 2014 elections. After seeing all this, various other organisations, which are politically affiliated also joined the club. Actually, as a social scientist, I personally feel that a common man does not want either Telangana or United Andhra except a full meal a day.
There may be some dissatisfaction among Telangana people. Who was responsible for that? The leaders of Telangana are responsible. There were Telangana ministers in the Assembly both in Cong and TDP regimes. They did not address any problem when the leaders from Telangana enjoying the ministerial berths. Why? It means they were sold out or corrupted or they felt that the separate statehood is necessary. The voice of Telangana became dumb till KCR showed a ray of hope for the separate state. It is half truth that the separate state issue was always there etc. If they have the demand/aspiration of separate state, why not during Nizam's rule? At that time, the Telangana people just wanted to be freed from the clutches of Nizam. Now the agitators want separate state and after that a separate nation like Khalistan demand by Punjab in 1980s. Is it not?
