Why do you Study?

I have watched a Tv programme which is being anchored by the film heroine of recent past and follower of YS Jagan, Ms. Roja. It doesn't matter how the game went on but the knowledge of Ms. Roja remained as a real bimbett. She asked one of the participants about her education. The girl said she is studying or trying to get the seat in IIT. Now Roja's statement is that it is nice if the girl completes IIT, she will get good job. How can we justify this heroine a knowledgeable politician? Can't she ask the aspiration after passing or completion of degree IIT? Is IIT or any engineering course meant for good job opportunity only? Can't the engineers start their own industry or a firm or for some other business?

Why do I ask this?

Because, most of the parents and students including teachers etc. feel that studies are meant for jobs only. Previously, there were some ideal students to do business, engage in agriculture or start a manufacturing or service oriented firm etc. Now, everybody is searching for employment. Why don't they try their own industry etc. as per qualification. For example, an engineer or IITian can start a small scale industry with his technical knowledge. Another example is that an Agriculture graduate can maintain his farm lands in stead of searching for the post of agriculture scientist. A chartered Accountant can do practice. These are some of the occupations, I mentioned here. All these are helpful to earn money for their livelihood and will be masters of their work. Nobody can compel them to sit in the office or work in a firm for eight hours whether the employee likes or not.
One more point is that higher degrees are not necessary to earn something for their livelihood.

Here is my sincere advice to the students. Please stop your studies, if you are studying for want of a job only. Your normal degree is enough for most of the posts. Please study for improving your knowledge as the knowledge is divine. There is no end to gain the knowledge.
